our ancestors went through so much crap for us to live in a democracy but it is just getting to the point where it's completely pointless and just an insult to your intelligence to vote for people who use it to get rich as a career move which is all of them for the last 30 years at least starting with Blair

I'm voting Reform this time but if they behave in the same way I will seriously consider not voting any more why be part of their game

Just got back from the polling station where I cast two votes:

One for the Welsh Senedd where I voted for a Party under this new crazy system. Probably a wasted vote as my favourite party won't get one of the 6 seats up for grabs

One in a county council by-election where I voted for an independent whom I know and always seems a decent guy. Can't see him winning though.

So probably a waste of time but I was on my way to the supermarket anyway.

Oh, say not so. Pulling the ladder up is a well established custom among "assimilated" minorities, who are grateful for the opportunities they were afforded, but see no good reason why newcomers should have access to them.

Just look at the Right Dishonourable Ugli Patel.

But virtue signalling what a "nice person" you are is obviously very addictive, most of them don't even know how hypocritical they're being using issues they don't give a crap about like racism just to make themselves look good.🤣

Pretty much agree...I always vote, as a general rule GE I think nationally, locally i tend to think who can help best locally. They're not always the same.

There's loads of ways to think about it...the party you agree with, if there is one and whether or not they stand a chance, tactical, protest, picking the least worst lol

All are options

I dont get not voting.

Many in this country gave their lives to get the vote.

Millions thought out the world long to have the opertunity to vote.

Your vote means something, get off your arse and get to your polling office and vote or at the very least spoil the ballet paper.

It is the only legitimate way to change society.

The more the so-called political astute call people stupid , ignorant or racist the more likely those same denigrated people that feel they haven’t got a dog in the fight will put their mark in a box not because they particularly agree with the candidates views but more too thumb a nose up at their detractors .

Brexit a case in point, and for those pearl clutchers that say a vote for Farage is a racist vote are not even close to seeing the real far right and Farage isn’t it

There's loads of things changing society.

The internet, the smart phone, AI, robotics, global shipping.

These counselor types mean fuck all in the greater scheme of things.

The rise of factions within politics reveals the divided state of Western countries.

For a full General Election, absolutely 100% agree with you. People fought for the right to vote, so it should be used. Even if you put ‘Bollox’ diagonally across your ballot paper,

Slightly different in council elections; I’ve never noticed my living expenses being impacted either way with a council change, but certainly have in a main G E.

In Australia, it is compulsory to vote in a G E.

Agree… but sadly, the “deserving class” (good phrase) don't get the degree of help they need as too many freeloaders are taking from the pot / or it’s wasted by inept managers.

I don’t resent paying tax, but I do resent it not getting to those who need it most !

If you dont vote you forfeit your rights to be heard. If you vote you take control of your rights as a citizen for the good of society, humanity, yourself, country, the world etc.

"Who is choosing not to Vote today?

No vote no voice. Vote to keep out Deform. Anyone who votes for them is stupid or racist or both

I assume I must be stupid then

As mixed race it would be hard to be racist

Oh well never mind"

I know mixed race racists and people with mixed race or POC partners too.

Even a black Reform candidate last election in our area.

Stupid and selfish people are everywhere.

"The more the so-called political astute call people stupid , ignorant or racist the more likely those same denigrated people that feel they haven’t got a dog in the fight will put their mark in a box not because they particularly agree with the candidates views but more too thumb a nose up at their detractors .

Brexit a case in point, and for those pearl clutchers that say a vote for Farage is a racist vote are not even close to seeing the real far right and Farage isn’t it"

Farage and his ilk have very much emboldened the more right leaning to speak out and feel that it's ok to think and act the way that they do.

It's a dangerous direction to take and it does really worry me for young people.

I will continue to speak out when I see bullying ,hatred and injustice but some people really will be in the recieving end of it.

I had enough of that growing up in the 70's and 80's and I will not put up with that shit anymore, either for myself or others.

But, if everyone thinks like you do then no one would vote.

If you go vote for two you think might get things done ,even a little, then you are a vote that is making a difference.

You are part of society and your vote does count.

Always vote despite all the knackers on the ballot paper. It's always down to the least worst of them.

The notion that not voting means you have no say, or misses your opportunity at democracy is false. Not voting is a statement in itself. Not voting is participating in democracy by abstaining. When enough abstain, we might see real change. Pigs might fly first of course.

Change ALL party leaders and I might think of voting for one. ( Couldn't vote this time)

All a load of windbags at present.

Exactly 👍 that’s my view I have a right not to vote especially if I feel there is no one worth voting for

I’m not by any means against anyone that does vote as that is their choice and I fully appreciate it and I hope they get their wish but I just feel so disillusioned with our current political parties that I chose not to vote

Maybe one day I’ll change my mind and vote for a party that i believe will do right by the people of our great country

It’s only a statement in your own mind, nobody else knows you haven't voted. At least turn up and spoil your ballot - that way it gets counted.

I hear where you are coming from. Also watched the Welsh and the Scottish leaders debates. What a dull unimaginative and uninspiring bunch!
