I’ve been on and off fabguys for the past 5 years. But this time around I’m shocked at some of the racism I’ve received by just winking or messaging someone’s profile. Yes I’ve received the odd message through the years if I’ve messaged or winked at someone first. Might get a polite I’m not into black guys. Cool. But some of the messages I’ve received in the last week and today have been pretty deplorable. I’m certainly not thin skinned but it has knocked my confidence a little today., peace & love always.

Whether you agree with me or not, it's inarguable that Reform have pushed the Overton Window of what's supposedly acceptable to say in public pretty far to the right. Undoing several decades' worth of progress against racism and homophobia in the process (or as they'd have it, liberating freedom of speech from woke constraints).

Really sorry you have to experience this. You would think that given most folk on this site will have had to deal with or be concerned about homophobia at some point, folk would be a little more understanding and less judgmental when it comes to matters of race, colour etc…

I agree that Reform rely on racist overtones to appeal to people's baser instincts. Not sure that many papers are openly pro-Reform other than the Daily Express, or Daily Distress as I've always called it. Also the Faragite version of capitalism is not pure capitalism. More the 1930s German version.

I have been here on and off for the last 6 years and never comes across any racism. Perhaps I perceived it very differently and positively what people said or replied to me in the Forum, messages or text. I see it as love, advice, inspiration, correction, hints, implicatures, guidance etc.

But I can emphatise with you and understand your personal experiences. I am just lucky. It must be hurting for you but there are always good people around who will love you till the end of time or unconditionally. Best wishes to you.

Having sufferer from some terrible physical and verbal racism, from all colours and creeds, in the 80s, due to being married to my beautiful Indian wife, I felt that by the turn of the century things were much better, and that’s what my kids seemed to feel. However over the last 5 years or so, things have definitely taken a turn for the worse.

But please remember there are more good people about than bad ones, it’s just that the bad ones like to make themselves known

I am so sorry you have had to put up with this, the people who do this are disgusting scum who don't even know that the human race came from Africa. We were probably all black once. If these fools manage to get farage into Downing Street then the racism will get worse. I am ashamed of the people in this country who are racist.

People in this country also forget that we are partially french from the norman conquest in 1066, we have Norse, Roman and Germanic genes in our make up, we are a mixed race.

It is probably the same people who use abuse in their conversations about politicians. They don't have the intelligence to put forward a coherent position for their vile abuse.

I invite them to give their reasons for their racist abuse then maybe other people can put forward ideas to counter the abusers.

I am so sorry that you have to suffer but remember it is not you, plenty on here who support you and offer their love to your ease hurt.

I'm sorry you've been subjected to abusive messages. Unfortunately not all the members of this site are enlightened or inclusive, in fact some are outright toxic and aggressive.

Physical preferences for intimacy can include skin colour in the same way as any other characteristic, as a matter of personal aesthetics. It's not a factor for me personally, but I stand that it's perfectly legitimate. However, that's an entirely different matter to hateful attacks or insults. When contacted by someone we don't find attractive for whatever reason, we can just reply not what I'm looking for, or simply ignore them (I don't agree with those who say not replying is rude).

By the way, for what it's worth I like your profile and would get in touch if we were in the same town.
