The Danger of Fabguys

In the last couple of weeks I’ve had last minute cancellations due to the hook up’s misfortunes. One chipped a tooth. One needed new tyres on his car and one had his mother become ill mind you he was in his late 60’s so his mother must be pretty old.

Luckily not everyone suffers these terrible mishaps. I still managed to get meets.

Should Fabguys have a warning banner?

Yeah it should. "May casuse sex addiction" would be appropriate. Last minute cancellations are unfortunately an occupational hazard here, but then again, so is the ease of getting sex.

I didn't realise that fab could wear out your tyres. I guess that's from driving to too many waste of time meetings that demand instant service.

I have had a few wrong addresses, the go silent ones, the last minute hiccup, some may be genuine, but my favourite was 10 mins before meeting he text and said that he forgot he had to collect someone from shopping.. creative thinking but not believable.

THe unforgivable one there was the new tyres for the car excuse, did he not know his tyres were in need of replacing before arranging a meet?

Had many meets but also many Timewasters. My worst experience? After driving roughly one hour, to meet a TV who had sent dozens of messages, sent photos & her address, said " let yourself in & leave the £50 on the telephone table"..... no mention of money before this. I got back in the car & drove home!

Given a full address, postcode etc but when I got there the cul-de-sac only went up to 26 whereas the house number he gave me was something like 58.

A guy suddenly remembering that he had to go into hospital for major surgery at the very time we were supposed to meet. Still on site throughout his operation!

A guy texting me to say he was within a couple of miles of my place and would be with me in about 5 minutes. That must have been 10 years ago and he still hasn't shown up or replied to my texts.

So I arranged to meet a guy in London at his flats

I parked and messaged him he replied and said he could see me and gave me the number of his flat

I pressed his number on the intercom and he let me in

He then txt me and told me to only knock on his door wearing lingerie and my knee hi boots

To which I said i wasn’t comfortable doing as it meant getting undressed in the stairwell of the strangers flats

He then called me a time waster and blocked my number and blocked me on fab also

I was staying in a hotel in Wales and their were two other guys staying there, separately, who were on fab. One of them messaged me and said him and the other guy were up for a meet. I gave him my room number, left the door unlocked and never heard from either of them again! What the fuck is wrong with people? I wouldn't mind but he approached me.

You have to accept that sometimes, things happen. It a human world so it will never be perfect. There will always be people who deliberately give out false addresses, just to cause inconvenience to others.

There will always be people who get cold feet.

Hopefully they will have the consideration to message they can’t meet. But it’s not always the case.

A statement telling guys that they will get a ban for timewasting. One guy round here regularly sets up a new profile, agrees to meet. Last time he gave me the address the day before, when I came online on the day of the meet he had gone, as had all the messages both in and out. Must have wasted someone else's time too and got closed down

Not necessarily. The guy, who I mentioned in an earlier post who gave me a non-existent address, was on the old Cottaging site and had been there over a year and had several verifications. Possibly all false but nevertheless there. He blocked me when I tried to contact him via the site and the mobile phone number he gave me just kept going to voicemail. Probably a cheap burner phone.

I like to meet new guys but I know by instinct if something doesn't fit right.

Met a lot of genuine guys on here but tbh I only meet guys I have met before.

I find it a lot of hassle meeting new guys now..long chats etc..even verified guys have let me down... but I'm very lucky to have a pool of 3 guys who are totally reliable..

I use Google earth to confirm addresses exist. Especially street view to question colour of door or other identifiers. If the guy can't describe then that marks them as bullshitters. Not foolproof I know but a good filter none the less.

Agree with this. A guy I was due to meet a while back had a lot of good veris (gloryhole) but he still went offline after I'd travelled to meet me and didn't come on again for days, then blocked me. Yes veris are a guide but not fully reliable in my experience.

Had one a couple of weeks back. Spent ages messaging before we agreed to meet.

Sent a "setting off now - see you soon" message but something told me to pull over in the services five minutes later only to find I'd been blocked!

On the other hand I've had two genuine excuses both of which sounded iffy at the time. One was a couple of days after a Christmas and a guy cancelled because an aunt had unexpectedly turn up. Evidently true and we re-arranged and met a few days later.

Another was a young guy, whom I'd met before. Messaged me to say his car was in the garage, had hoped to borrow his dad's but he had said no. Again we did meet up a week or so later.

had a few of these incidents myself, the first was from a guy who'd been chatting for weeks & asked if he could visit, waited for a hour & didn't show up, he then messaged 2 days later saying he didn't want to waste his fuel traveling to me despite being less than 2 miles away.

the other was a much more serious incident, a guy who was randomly messaging me for several months invited me over to his place, gave a postcode, street name but no house number & said he'd be waiting on his doorstep, i did a street map search before i left my house & headed over, upon arrival wich happened to be a cul-de-sac there were 2 guys who immediately approached my car asking "what the fuck was i doing in their street" my response was i was lost & had taken a wrong turning, they then continued to shout and threaten me so i drove away only for them to jump into a pick up truck and follow me around for a good few miles before they gave up & turned in a different direction, i messaged him when i got back home giving him more than a few choice words & have never heard from him since, definitely a warning to be careful out there.

When someone appears keen and is travelling several miles to meet I watch on their profile for the distance between us changing. If after a while it remains the same I assume it's another of those who get off by making arrangements but never showing up so I block them.

If you have given your genuine address out and they don't show up it is a worry.

Can they be trusted?

I am considering getting a ring door bell now, just in case they rock up whilst I am not at home. At least that might also put of potential burglars.

I think quite a few men get really turned on, talking about meeting but completely freak out when it comes to the actual meet. Rather than saying so, they just "hide". Often,if they went ahead but just had a chat and a cuppa to start with, they'd relax and then enjoy some sex.

If you have a bad feeling about a guy, always trust your gut, there are some weirdos on these types of site, Scarlet Blake (look them up) frequented hook up sites and I know of a member local to me who was prosecuted 6 or 7 years ago for having inappropriate images on his computer.

You’re going to feel awful when they eventually find his car in a ditch, skeletal corpse inside, rusted mobile welded to his rotten finger bones. I hope you’ll be honourable enough to attend the memorial service.

I'm far from a prolific meeter, and prefer saunas but I've had a few occasions where you turn up at their street only to discover they've gone radio silent only to reappear on the site a few days later.

I can only assume they're behind their curtains knocking one out as you park up.

According to whom? Who’s going to ban them? In whose judgment will it be considered time-wasting or otherwise? Meaningless nonsense.

If I came across a profile that said “You will get banned if you are a time-waster!” I’d immediately want to avoid shaking-fist-at-clouds person…

I've changed my profile to can't accom. I've had enough of time waster asking a 100 questions. I give the address and then no show. I can't be bothered with it anymore. I mostly go cruising and occasionally meet at theirs. I like the pick and mix element of cruising. See what's on offer before I find something I want to put in my basket
