No..nothing 100 per cent safe but it makes it very very safe with regards to contracting hiv, in the high 90s per cent protection.

But only hiv it won't protect you against other stis. Some can be vaccinated against so best off visiting a sex health clinic, get tested and talk about vacs, prep, foxy etc

Even other vaccines only cover specific strains not all strains.

If you’re in an active relationship with someone else - think of their health too

I was put on Prep and Doxy a few weeks ago, had all the tests and quite a few jabs as well. I've never had bareback before but am more likely to now, especially with guys I get to know and trust.

Good points...plus vaccines don't always give people a good immune response, I'm sure there's someone on here who mentioned the hep b Vax doesn't take with him.

Plus others don't give full protection, gonorhea is something like 40 percent?

If he is on prep, he is protecting himself, not you. How about you take responsibility for your sexual health yourself.

Why you asking on here? If you're on Prep your Dr or Nurse should've explained. Standard practice and advice is Prep is preventative.

You should also be on event based Doxy for peace of mind. 2 just before or within 72hrs of sex...then 2 over 2 days afterwards.

I'm on event based Prep, 2 of which you take 2-24 hours before sex, another 1 24hrs after the first dose and another 24 hours after that.

For Doxy you take 1 pill 24 hours after sex but no later than 72 hours later.

The only person who is responsible for your sexual health is you. You cannot rely on anyone else being tested or on PrEP, he might tell you he is but how do you know?? If you want to go bare then you should be regularly tested an on Prep and preferably also on Doxy PEP.

If someone is on Prep they could still be carrying a number of other nasties. However if they are on prep it shows that they do at least take their sexual health seriously. Bottom line is, what is YOUR Attitude towards risk? Decide where you stand and then just accept who you are.

While those genuinely on prep tend to be the safest meets on here because they get tested reguularly, it is pure lunacy to assume that just because someone says they are on prep that they actually are. Firstly, it gives you no protection against hiv, and secondly, men lie to get a fuck. Then imagine being a top who fucks a bttm who's arse is already flooded with hiv+ cum, yet you are stupid enough to assume you're ok cos he said "oh its ok im on prep" Where is YOUR protection then. Take responsibility for yourself for gods sake, and grow up!

Don't BB if you have someone else to consider. Prep is reliable far as HIV goes, but you can still get one or more bacterial STIs.
