What is this all about, it's in the king's speech.

What effect will this new law have in cases where someone wants to change gender?

I don't think it should have any effect to those wanting to change gender. The bill aims to ban conversion 'therapy', something that seems to have wide support but which keeps getting put off as too difficult.

See the sponsoring MPs website: https://www.russell-moyle.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Conversion-Practices-Explanatory-v6.pdf

The worrying part is that despite everyone saying they don’t want it, they are still pushing ahead with digital I.D!!!

As far as I understand, conversion therapy is the opposite, it's used to convert homosexual and trans people to conform to heterosexual and gender norms.

Correct. It seems to be on the increase among some of the new fundamentalist, and more extreme, branches of christianity. It's big business in the bible belt of America among Pentecostal and Baptist churches.

Their's a couple of good films about the effects of conversion therapy on young guys, both true stories - Boy Erased and Prayers for Bobby.

The word Prohibition indicates it’s going to be prohibited 🤔

Yes agreed that is dangerous, it could/will gradually morph into something more sinister. Your digital ID automatically scanned to access certain privileged areas.
