Not something I ever thought possible but having a special man in my life, doing things other than having sex together has become so important to me. From being a straight man in my 20's and 30's to yearning to be one half of a gay couple has even taken me by surprise. It is strange how your life can change so drastically and take you down a different path.

I don't think this is a phase I'm going through because I've had these thoughts for some time and they are growing stronger.

Can anyone else relate to this ?

I fully understand what you're saying but I don't actually want a man to settle down with or be his bit on the side.

There is I believe a halfway house whereby you acknowledge that you're not going to be with someone 24/7 but when you do meet there develops a bit more than friendship. I know this type of a 'relationship' can seem a bit lop-sided but as long as you both enjoy each other's company and realise the limitations at the outset then you know where you stand.

If you're a needy type of person, which I'm not then I accept there could be emotional problems further down the line.

I’ve e had it and it was amazing. Not open, I wouldnt leave him at home and go to meet someone. But we’d have threesomes and more. He loved me like I loved him.

But now at almost 60 I’ve got to accept that will never happen again. I’m ok with that. Just won’t entertain anyone calling me a boyfriend if they are already partnered. So a few regulars is good enough. Good sex and maybe a cuddle after. Then we go on with our lives.
