Peyronies Disease

Anyone else been affected by Peyronies?

And no I'm not talking about too many of the Italian beers of a weekend

Is a condition that it's thought to impact around 10% of men over 40 - and basically shows itself by a distinct bend in the penis, rather than a curve (which is perfectly natural).

Very little is known about it, or what causes it to develop, and the only proven remedy is fairly drastic surgery that can both shorten the length and lead to erectile dysfunction - there are various theoretical remedies such as vacuum pumps and traction devices but none of them are 100% proven to work.

I've had the condition for around 5 years now and have learned to live with it, rather than chase a "fix" - I've lost some length and have a bend upwards from the middle of my shaf lt of about 30-40 degrees. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, and I've lived a relatively active sex life since the condition developed.

Just thought I'd put this out there to increase awareness and offer support for others in a similar situation.

So a friend of mine also has it - and he has found that using a pump has helped him considerably.

In my previous job managing a radiotherapy department we treated cases of Peronie’s - it is related to Ledderhose disease and Dupuytren's contracture - all benefit from radiotherapy but focused ultrasound and surgery are also used too.

Try the pump first. It is the least expensive and least traumatic and has least side effects. The link is to a site which is selling their pump but it has links to valid science and I would always encourage non-invasive treatments before scalpels, radiation or high energy should waves, are directed towards the penis. (All three can break up the plaques that distort the corporate that in turn bend the penis but all three can also limit the sponge-ability of the corps too and can make ere ruins less hard in future).

Thanks for replying, personally, and based on my own research, I know pumps *can* help some people, but others they have no effect.

And yes was aware of the links with Depuytrens as I also have that.

One of the biggest problems with the condition is the lack of research/information about it, what causes it etc - even when I saw my GP about it, I knew more about it than he did.
