I post a status saying I'm looking for afternoon fun. Two guys start messaging, we chat about what each other wants then both come up with "can't do this afternoon - I'm working". Is it me who has got it wrong?

You’re not wrong. But you are dealing with people, not commodities on a supermarket shelf. People aren’t paint; they don’t always do exactly what it says on the tin.

And don’t forget they write their own profiles and no-one fact checks them.

Was your immediate instinct to say: it’s a shame you’re not free today, but let’s look at our diaries and see when we might both be free another time? Did you lock both of these guys down into meeting in the future or make sure you are keeping in touch to do so..?

Or was your immediate instinct to hurry on to the Forum to bleat about it all..?

It does happen but it looks more like some kind of oddity.

What is more likely to happen is space cadets wanting to meet NOW while I clearly said in my profile that it's never going to happen.
