Anyone else struggling with a toxic workplace loaded with woke and entitled people, typically born in the 1990's - 2000's. Feck me, what a bunch of entitled whimps!

My workplace is FILLED..

.. with freaks and mutants

.. and that’s just the customers

The staff are fairly odd, too.

What’s wrong with woke? To quote Kathy Burke. I’d rather be Woke than a cunt.

Try having a boss for one. The spineless cunt. He hates confronting people. Rather do it in an email.

I love this although I’d probably reverse it.

Maybe if you could spell simple words you could move to a better profile, since it currently contains at least two spelling errors

Something like 80% of the managers in this country are accidental managers, I.e. they didn’t apply for the position and weren’t developed in to it they were just offered the job because a higher manager was desperate or they thought it was a good idea. Further; the management training offered is woeful in both quality and quantity. Is it any wonder we have toxic workplaces?

As someone born in the 1990s am now sharing a work place with ones born in 2008

I just sit alone now at work and clock in and clock out on the dot. I hate work I think I was not meant for it.

Think most workplaces are toxic to some degree. Ours is rife with favouritism. (Airport worker for context front of house)

I seem to sit on check in all day whilst others stand outside and vape and smoke, then go to greggs for a sausage roll for 45mins.

I manage 29 people, I run a very robust kind of workforce, they know what KPiS are, and my job is to give guidance and mentoring on how to work towards those numbers. I also run a very safe space kind of chat, stuff for me an my team to vent, but the bigger bosses don't need to be aware of. You don't need to be a dick to be in charge of something.

I’m a baby boomer and reached the point where I could no longer cope with the endless management ‘initiatives’. I had to quiet quit for a while until I could draw my pension.

There are more toxic workplace than non-toxic workplace.

Office politics is very common. Staff are always competing and undermining one another. Gossips, jealousy, backbiting most days. Some staff and managers lack good communication and social skills, bias, prejudiced, playing politics and favouritism, cronyism instead of being objective, neutral, fair and impartial. Stress level increased.

Only ever worked in one. Took over as bar manager in this lovely old country pub/hotel/restaurant. Place was owner by a mother and daughter who seemed charm itself at the interview and when offering me the job. Once I started it all changed. They were a right pair of toxic harridans. Soon discovered that no member of staff stayed there more than 6 months. Even the longest serving member, a 60+yo kitchen porter left to become a trolley pusher at Adsa. I stuck it for 7 weeks before getting a worse paid but much pleasanter job.

I totally agree, some managers don't know how to manage!

I once had a two year fixed term contract not renewed because the boss said she had difficulty managing me. I think that’s her problem, not mine. She was the one would should have been let go.
