Football Managers

North London (outer)

Most of the successful football managers these days seem to come from the continent, notably Spaniards such as Arteta, Guardiola, Iraola, Alonso, Emery etc, along with others such as Klopp, Ancelloti & Wenger to name a few. Teams such as Brighton, Palace, Sunderland all have decent managers as well, none of whom are from the UK.

When it comes to British managers, Scotland have also produced some outstanding ones over the years such as Busby, Shankly, Ferguson, Dalgleish, even David Moyes. Where are all the English managers?

Tbh you don’t win the premier league if you are a shit manager ok he’s had big money to spend but even so you still need to get the players to gel and play as a team

Plus he’s also got them into the champions league final which is no mean feat so personally I’d say he’s a cracking manager

I think there are plenty of English managers that would be overlooked by bigger clubs because they would rather take a punt on a foreign manager than an English manager. Not sure why.

Successful managers win more than ONE trophy in SEVEN years.

Arteta is not a successful manager by any stretch of the word

100% I can’t even watch sky sports at the moment because all it’s gonna be for next couple of days is their wanky fan base singing that stupid fucking song about north London. No sour grapes whatsoever but cheating and entitlement is on another level. I get we’re as good as down but and fuck me so much for our foreign coach / manager or whatever he calls himself ⚒️⚒️

Rose……. Have faith!

Everton will snatch a 1-2 victory at Spurs, and the Hammers will nick a 1-0 win against Leeds, in the 7th minute of injury time.🤞

West Ham by all accounts were shocking against the Mags I was expecting them to really fight for it and get a decent result so if they are to beat Leeds then they will really need to up their game

Before I get any abuse I actually want West Ham to stay up

they were awful and let’s be honest there has been no structure or fight since we won the conference. If we manage to stay up it will be exactly the same next season. It will be our 3rd time we’ve been relegated but this time it feels different.

Imo something isn’t right at board level it’s so important that the board have the best interests of the club at heart and invest wisely which hasn’t seemed to be the case at West Ham

I feel for the West Ham fans as they are passionate fan base who deserve better it’s just unfortunate for them that the board don’t seem to have real ambition to take the club forward

I never did rate Karen Brady she was only in it for herself and was behind the move to the Olympic Stadium which i believe never went down well from the beginning

English Premier League.

For example: in Monday's Arsenal v Burnley match, only 5 of the 22 who started were eligible to play for England.

It'll be interesting to see where Iraola ends up next, and if he can be successful at a bigger club. There are rumours that he may replace Slot at Liverpool, but if that doesn't happen there'll be no shortage of suitors.

Bumping this because it's the Premier League manager of the season awards this evening. Who do you think should win it?

The award is usually given to whoever has won the title, and it would be difficult to argue against Arteta. That said, Emery has done fantasticly well at Villa, as have Iraola at Bournemouth and Le Bris at Sunderland.

Emery would get my vote but as you say, they pretty much invariably hand it to whoever wins the league.

Question: Do you think Arteta dyes his hair?

Le Bris just time last year he brought us up from the Championship and now he has taken us into Europe which for a newly promoted team that everyone wrote off at the start of the season is a remarkable achievement

He probably won’t get as we all know who will but I’d be absolutely delighted for him if he did as imo it would be fully fully deserved

Captain Scarlet has been around since the 1960s with no suggestion of hair dye usage so no, obviously.

I’m biased obviously but Le Bris should have won it especially after what he’s achieved with our club

Newly promoted team top seven finish into Europe 14 new players at the start of the season to get playing as a team and yet hardly no praise whatsoever
