I suffer from this. Most days I can barely get out of bed. It makes it extremely difficult to get a sex life which doesn't help because of my size. Any one who's disabled have trouble finding fun?

I have a few issues myself. Fibromyalgia and CSS included. Arranging meets can be really challenging due to flare ups

Have you tried excluding different types of food, to see if it helps? Wheat and sugar seem to be common culprits.

Seriously (I’m not taking the piss) get yourself motivated. A 20 minute walk every day will decrease your weight (with a proper eating regime) and your energy levels will rise.

Illness is INSIDE your head.

Rather rude and dismissive. But I expect you are a fully qualified top doctor ans psychiatrist and an expert on all things medical, physical and mental

I loathe these wankers with charmed lives and barely any ill health that judge people without really understanding what might be at the route of the problem .

I have similar shite fired off at me and then they see how busy I am , even on loads of medication and lots of long term illnesses .

Just think , hey , how you go around in life casting judgment on people's situations.

I feel for you mate.

Someone I know has the same condition .

Just try and do a little every day. Let the sex life be secondary.

Take care x

Sadly, the OP has left the site. So they won’t see the more helpful posts.

It would be good to think we could be kind and supportive to someone who has expressed their vulnerability in the forum in this way.

This guy just wanted someone to talk to. If he’d stayed, some of us could have helped point him in the right direction to get some real support. But that won’t happen now.

That ill-informed comment exemplifies blatant ignorance and insensitivity. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a recognised illness with severe physical symptoms. It’s easy to dismiss it as “illness is INSIDE your head” until you’re the one living with it. Then perhaps you’ll know!

Shame the op left the site.

I asked him what's your disability (wrong) I should have asked if he had a physical problem. Because I think ,it could be a mental issue the ones we can't see are often the worst. A friend of mine, fit as a flea runs cycles gym. however he had a very rough patch in his life when all his world fell apart. He seemed to be coping ,then just as he thought he was over his problems he suddenly fell apart kept saying hes tired can't get up just wanted to sleep. Maybe just maybe it's the after shock catching up and suddenly hits you like a tsunami. The brain and mind are very complex things, I don't know I'm no doctor. But its unfair to blame weight and diet alone. I would say .xx

Birmingham B15

I was given a diagnosis of chronic fatigue after I had post-viral fatigue which just never went away.

Luckily mine is relatively mild, but it's still brutal waking up every morning feeling exhausted regardless of how well (or badly) I sleep, and then getting worse from there as the day goes on (usually yawning by about 11am).

A good portion of my free time is taken up with activities (or really lack of activities) so that can remain functional enough throughout the week to keep up at work.

It isn't wrong to say that diet and exercise can have a fairly significant effect though. My doctor recommended that I eat reasonably healthily (I'm already very much not overweight), and exercise regularly.

I eat more cold water fish than I used to (which I don't think helps, but doctor's orders), take vitamin supplements, walk a reasonable distance at least once a week, and try to take it easy at evenings and weekends.

If I have days where I don't get out of bed until after midday because I'm tired, ultimately that makes me feel worse than if I get up and and carry on regardless.

Get a Vitamin B12 blood test to check for any deficiency or anaemia and low haemoglibin level.

Your GP will give you Vitamin B12 injection every 3 months if needed. It will boost your energy, relieve your tiredness and breathlessness.

Best wishes. Take care.

I know a guy with this and he’s actually a barrel of health. He walks nearly 2 miles to the train station in the morning and again in the evening plus whatever he does during his day. He actually sorted my dietary intake for maintaining my current weight so he knows what his talking about but at the same time we could be on a night out and he will have to sit down somewhere not to high up and just doze off ( nothing to do with alcohol before someone says lol ) sometimes it can be as long as 45 minutes before he gets back to normal.

Some dinosaurs seem to think being overweight is entirely your own fault and chronic tiredness is laziness and all in the mind. Even some old fashioned doctors often thought this. A lot of this is to do with metabolism and many other factors. I've been battling the weight problem all my life yet I still managed several years in the army, where you need to be fit, plus years of playing rugby and other sports, plus been a keen walker and always fairly active.

These days I often wake up tired after what seems to have been a good night's sleep. I suffer sleep apnea but a CPAP gadget seems to have solved that problem. I do suffer osteo-arthritis and on very cold or very wet days I struggle to move or motivate myself. With the high temperatures and bright sunshine this weekend I have felt much better and done a lot of gardening.

I'll also add I don't drink alcohol or eat a lot of sugary and fat laden foods.
