No Shows: how do you react?

I’m sure we all hate getting stood up, as I was at 12:30. I have messaged the guy to see if there’s a reason but I’m not expecting an honest reply, if at all.

So, do I name&shame? Would you?

Also I’m now very horny & I can feel my standards falling rapidly. People I would not normally meet are in with a chance. This always happens. How do you react?

Just view it as you dodged a bullet - for no shows, whoever it was behind the keyboard you were talking with is not someone you want to be intimate with. Lots of frauds, flakes and scammers just learn from the interaction and move on. Genuine people looking for real hookups will never ask you for money or 'favours'

I just think glad they never got over my front doorstep like mentioned above they are not genuine

Strangely similar think has just happened to myself and while waiting for a message I’m contacting by someone else on the site

We get messaging then he cleverly puts in a message he wants paying.

He doesn’t use any wor like cash or payment but I’m wise enough to see through him

Anyway I act daft and he falls for it and reveals how much he wants

I’m never surprised at what some get up to

I prep for a meet as give the benefit of the doubt.

Last few no shows tho and I've headed out cruising or usually have another nice fella on the go for a meet.

I had one fella comment how clean i was when we hooked up within 10mins of a message.

If they don’t turn up, it’s because they wouldn’t have been able to deliver what they promised. Saved yourself a huge disappointment in the bedroom

I always try to have a back up plan as I go to a lot of trouble prepping before hand so am nice and fresh, usually a gay bar or cruising somewhere.

The last one I reported as I drove to the address, he then texted me the door number and when I texted back to say see you in a min he had already blocked me. I assumed the door number was fake so I left.

"It happens to me all the time it’s ridiculous I’m ready to delete my account "

If they have no verifications, then I insist on a phone chat before the meet.

It takes a while but you can usually out the. keyboard wankers who have no intention of meeting they. just want more wank fodder so say anything to keep you messaging.

If im travelling I tend to do a drive by a few times to get the feel of a place, one time drove to the address given, house and garden in bad state of repair, looked unlived in or neglected, anyway parked up the rd messaged to say I was there, looked back and 3 guys lurking by side of house, I messaged again and saw the phone being used. I messaged and told him the police were on their way, 3 lads off and running and I dont know why but the guy disappeared off the site!!!

pisses me off when I have spent time getting ready, sometimes drove half an hour and then they don’t turn up and don’t even tell you. Nothing I can do so move on and don’t let it wind me up.

As much as a no-show leaves me a tad annoyed and downhearted, it’s just how things go sometimes. I put it down to experience, shift my focus elsewhere, and move on with a “nothing ventured, nothing gained” attitude.

Block and put it down to life lessons and tighten it up next time. It’s shit but it comes with the territory and you start understanding signs

It takes a fair bit of convincing for me to agree to a meet as I put a lot of effort into getting ready. Dressing and putting on my make-up takes time so it's particularly galling when they're a no show. But over the years it's happened a lot. In fact I'm more surprised when they actually show up up !

I have noticed however that during the initial contact phase, the ones less likely to show are the ones who bombard you with intimate questions. They seem to be the ones who are just out for a cheap thrill, with no intention of ever meeting up.

I tend not to name and shame but I do block them.

Sorry about the no show. Block and move on. It’s an unfortunate part of the game. Don’t name and shame or rail about no-shows in your profile because negativity and embitterment are turn-offs. Done to the extreme, it can also make you look like the unstable one.

A blessing in disguise.

I won't allow myself to absorb any negative energy out of disappointment that he failed to turn up or made an excuse at the last minute not to meet.

I just move on. It is all part of the experience. For those who met me I gave them a sexually satisfying experience they will always remember.

Oh I sort of anticipate now if someone going to be a timewaster or not, so it doesn't affect me really

I usually just block

I get many reasons, people get cold feet, someone's just a timewaster, someone is clearly not interested, someone's a keyboard enthusiast. Just a simple block after

Someone on here was quite persistent with his replies, always asking whether I like this or that. In the end I just asked him why so many questions and he said something along the lines of it's good to talk. Regardless of how interested he appeared to be I knew we would never meet so I blocked him.

You can usually spot the ones who have no intention of meeting. Like previous people have mentioned, too many questions, zero verifications, dodgy looking pics, refuse to swap numbers, strike up a conversation then the radio silence then get the same user message again the following day. Thankfully it’s not happened to me but I think that’s down to sussing them out straight away. Definitely block though 👌🏼

A mixture of annoyance, disappointment and relief. The house needed a good clean anyway. The bed sheets were probably due for a change. Douching wasn't an unpleasant experience. He was probably an ugly, smelly idiot anyway.

"Move on.

Someone in a totally different context told me to stop ‘hating/ getting wound up’ about a person…A) because they either/neither know or care, B) long term it’s like drinking poison & hoping someone else dies.

Saved me a lot of wasted anger & resentment over the years.
