Are we being ripped off with shopping bags from retailers

Cost of these bags range from 10p , 15p, 20p, 25p, 30p 45p

Some of the bags disintegrate very soon after carrying for a few hundred yards

Was it not the case that the retailer paid the vat on these bags and gave the rest to charity, I don't thinks so, its just more of a rip - off

Of course, and we are paying them to walk around with their advertising banner. Get a decent bag for life.

Thats not so bad even though unpalatable, its more of the local retailers that are ripping us off

Every "housewife" - as they were quaintly known - had a "shopping bag" (ditto) designed to last for years, back in the day. There's an idea!

Co-op disposables will usually do a few trips if you have religious objections to canvas or wicker...

If you are incorrigibly macho, though, the only solution is to ignore baskets altogether, grabbing your groceries piecemeal and holding them awkwardly in your arms as you stagger to your Land Tank in the carpark. The character lurking nearby and pissing himself laughing when you drop them is me.

Of course we ate being ripped off, have you ever heard a store chain or a charity announce how much has been donated to environmental causes.

It doesn't take a de of organisation to ensure you have a small bag folded up in a jacket pocket

SIMPLES !!!!

Well in that respect, it did at least last the remainder of his life, so not a complete rip-off. Unless the bag was used to dispatch him...

Leave the stupid remarks behind from the idiots who sadly are allowed to frequent this forum

What happens to the profit from shopping bags, do charities gain ?

Go into an Iceland store, when they are checking out a punters purchases for subsequent home delivery.. .plastic bags flying around like flocks of geese...yet all the stuff is being packed into delivery crates ?

Bring Bach the strong brown paper bags that were free at Safeways in the 70's. And they made great bin liners afterwards....

Take your own bags, you Muppet.

Then if you forget on the odd occasion just lash it in the recycling
