I often think about what be the first 3 things I would do if I won the lottery. Something like 3 million - what would yours be?

1. Pay off debt

2. Buy a nice house outright

3. Take a holiday for once

I did win, not anywhere near 3 mil though, and did those 3 things plus upped my pension pot and ISAs. For a change, I could afford to be sensible. If I won again, which is unlikely, I'd set up an animal medical centre somewhere hot and sunny to give free vet treatment.

I absolutely love that! I’ll work at your animal shelter if you ever did

Invest it and buy property for offspring to inherit. Don't do holidays, brand new cars etc, all a pointless waste of money. Might head to Sainsbury's though and splash out on one of their slightly more expensive Taste the Difference range.....if it has a yellow sticker, even better

1) Retire immediately.

2) Buy a house for my niece.

3) A World Tour - a few things I want to do whilst still relatively fit & sane. 😀

4) Invest the majority.

5) Make a donation to Macmillan Cancer & The Alzheimers Society.

6) Volunteer work a couple of days a week - got to keep the mind & body active!

I have a few longtime friends who, through no fault of their own & despite being hardworking, have always struggled..so I would definitely offer to help them out with places they can call their own ..I would also set up trust funds for my niece's & nephew's.

I have long held a ambition to purchase a few pockets of land & build holiday chalets that are fully accessible & would be marketed to those that struggle to make ends meet or have a disability that makes ' regular ' holiday options difficult to access.. Price wise, it would be a straight forward ' pay what you can afford '....

Ps: better play tonights euro millions..

I wonder how many of these altruistic notions actually happen when people do win the lottery?

Altruism is a two way fun thing, you can enjoy the other person's happiness.

I would celebrate and get as pissed as a rat before falling asleep on the sofa. Then I’d wake up because I need a piss and suddenly remember that I’m a millionaire and start drinking again.

The next day I’d go out for a cooked breakfast before looking after my family. Paying someone’s mortgage off for them would make a huge difference to their lives.

Then I’d get pissed again.

Nice idea but often wonder what I'd do if I really won big. Don't drink and not into lavish holidays. For myself a nice house and probably a better car. Very few family members and those I do have are a bit undeserving. I would see some really good friends had some money or luxuries they can't currently afford. The rest I might set up a trust to help the homeless in particular homeless armed services veterans.

I’d escape the noisy neighbours by buying a detached house. I’d travel to those parts of the world I still want to see but haven’t made it to yet. My best friend was widowed at a young age and so I’d help her get safely established. The rest I’d give to a conservation charity to buy land that needs protection for the sake of its wildlife.

I'd go to auctions and just keep outbidding everyone.

And if it was fine art I'd buy a bin lorry and as I won them, have the blokes come in, take them out and crunch them up. As an art statement.

After setting myself up financially first
