Rawcliffe Bridge.

Most sports, including football, but I was a swimmer/diver when younger, and that really was all I was interested in.

Hated Saturday afternoons in the 1970s/1990s, as 2 of the 3 TV channels that were available at the time, were taken over by sports.

With sport it is the difference between taking part or watching. Used to be a keen sportsman: Rugby, Hockey, Gaelic Football and even American Football. Once stopped playing it took ages to getting interested in watching but do now. Not keen on Football [soccer], cricket or tennis. Golf is definitely not a spectator sport.

We all like and dislike different things. Perhaps that is what makes us human and unique. On Saturday I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Rugby League match between Wigan and Hull K.R. Especially since my favoured side won quite decisively. However, whilst sitting in my armchair watching it, I did think that I would have hated being in the vat crowds at the stadium watching it. Thousands obviously did and paid a lot of money and travelled great distances to do so. Good for them but it wouldn't suit me.

However quite happy to go and stand in the cold and wet with about a dozen others to watch a local rugby team slog it out.

A lot of you dislike football. Yet it is the world's favourite and most popular sport. Each to their own of course. Not a fan myself. Perhaps because I was no good at it yet enjoyed playing other sports. However when I ran a village pub I did used to go and watch the village team play home games in their Sunday league. Quite good fun and, of course, they piled into the pub after the game
