Anyone fancy a virtual whialy tasting night. I’ll host on zoom and send out samples to taste whilst we’re all at home.

What’s your favourite??

London Area

Maybe it's meant to be virtual "Whilly tasting"...

Prefer a real face to face tasting though

Balvenie DoubleWood 12 year old

Aberlour 12 Year old

3 of my favourites, but anything speyside is good with me. I have friends who own a cottage in the grounds of the Glenfiddich estate in Dufftown, the home of single malt

I'm enjoying a lovely peaty Lagavulin with just a drop of water to unlock the flavour. It's an acquired taste, but it has so many depths of flavour. Reminiscent of a Laphroig double cask '87.

I'm not a fan of peated malts. Definitely an acquired taste

The Arran Barrell Reserve is a cracking one, not aged for long at all, smooth as you'll ever get. Try it, but don't tell everyone about it

Let set things straight:

If it’s a Scottish whisky (“a Scotch”) it’s without an ‘e’ and the plural is whiskies

If an American or Irish distillation it’s a whiskey and the plural is whiskeys.
