Thinking about getting both of mine done.

How should you choose a good place and person to get them done?

Aftercare, pain during and after, risk of infection?

Lastly choice of jewellery, the metal and design?

Thanks in advance.

Had mine done, took 18 months to heal. Have heard this from a lot of people who've had it done.. Some have had to have them redone.

I had mine pierced at a local tattoo studio.

Choose one that is clean and has good reviews. Initially I wore a straight bar on the advice of the lady who pierced me. I later changed to rings. Rings are much better and less likely to snag or pull. My piercings only took six weeks to heal.

Got one of mine done. The pain during was 11/10 but that was because the first one wasn't straight, so it got taken out and redone. I'm sure I saw the bright light the end of the tunnel....

That aside, for me healing wasn't too bad. Very tender for a couple of weeks, regular saline washes and just being very careful with it.

I was swimming again after 4 months (I shouldn't have been) and I love it.

I've got a very discreet straight bar, you probably wouldn't be able to see it through a shirt / t-shirt unless you knew and were looking for it.

The best thing about it? Unlike a tattoo, if ever I change my mind about it I can just take it out.

Visit your local piercing studio, go in for a chat and make sure you are happy with the cleanliness and customer reviews (everywhere has online reviews these days).

Good luck!
