I recently went to a Sauna in Copenhagen called Body Bio whilst visiting.

Having been to a couple in the UK and been impressed...

I was completely shocked at just how bad it was, there was zero etiquette people just grabbing at you as you walked past, the facilities were dark almost pitch black, smelt of damp and cigarette smoke, the place was filthy used condoms and tissues all over the floors.

The age range was quite poor with mainly older men which did not bother me but the rest definitely did.

I had a look around for a bit and left quite quickly...

Just wondered what other people's experiences have been like?

Been to many in Sitges and Maspalomas. Never had a bad experience, other than sometimes the jacuzzi is closed for example.

Many fellas today are obsessed with looks and type when it always used to be any hole is a goal. That's why we have GH and dark rooms.

I don't think you should be offended if someone cups the cheek of your arse in a darkroom.

However, it does sound a bit dire. I do wonder if we're now spoiled in the UK as so many places are smoke free. Stale smoke would put me off.

I agree about vanity, but this was not just an ugly venue it was dirty and very poorly kept

Times have changed im not expecting a 5 star experience at every venue but this was barely 1 star

Outside the UK the only sauna I've visited is the H2O in Benidorm. It was clean, modern and had a wide age range and several various nationalities.

To be honest it wasn't much different than any decent UK sauna, and I would recommend it.

I went to a sauna/strip club underneath a gay cinema in Athens. Lots of action but absolutely filthy. Another time I went to an underground sauna in Buenos Aires which was just like a dark celkar with some very scary guys cruising around - it was terrifying as I thought I was going to get r***d. I left asap.

I like H2O the guy who runs it is nice and it's clean but it's small and it could use a play area type space. It has so many foreigners it's basically like a Brit sauna as English is normally the common language.

Murcia has two right next to each other, one is a bit decrepit, but same price. They're very Spanish, it really improves your language skills although perhaps not in a publicly useful way.

The Spanish ones usually have a smoking room which is probably the best compromise.

As for groping, it's a gay sauna FFS you can just say no if you don't want to play.

I went to Aquarius in Ostend- it as super clean and very friendly with good facilities include a sling which I got well used. Mainly us older guys so felt comfortable!!!

Ten Mens in Singapore. My first and only sauna experience so I don't know quote how to rank it but it was very busy and a good ice breaker to the sauna scene.

I've been to quote a few saunas abroad ranging from absolute shit holes to fantastic places that were immaculate.

My main issue though isn't always the state of the place but how cliquey some can be, which when coupled with them speaking different languages can be tricky.

A couple of memorable ones were firstly one in torremolinos where I got the rimming of my life in a sling accompanied by a fantastic blow job.

There was also one hell of a fucking in PDI by a guy with a huge Prince Albert

I have been to a few in Spain, Germany and one in the States. I must admit the European ones were excellent, especially the German ones very clean and well organised but a bit on the expensive side. The Spanish definitely had the most fun/action going on, I do think the U.K. is catching up now with the likes of Northwich and Darlston
