Aye that’s so true and sadly it’s all about the bigger clubs you only have to go and watch football on a regular basis to see it

How can any other club compete with them??

I hate Newcastle but it’s a joke how they aren’t allowed to spent the amounts other clubs can and it’s all because the premier league don’t want a club like them competing at the very top despite them having one of the most passionate fans in the country only second to Sunderland ha ha

It’s all money money money and the only ones to benefit from it are the big clubs

"

The fans have always been the ones to lose out it was once a working man’s sport but they are slowly pricing out the very fans that make football for what it is

Soon it’ll be a game for the prawn sandwich brigade

The biggest problem is the players wages and the whole construct around that ...

Yep they are paid far too much it’s absurd

No player on the planet is worth £100’000 grand + it’s absolutely ridiculous

Cap the wages and transfer fees so it’s fair across the board and give the so called smaller clubs a chance

and lower the cap on the number of players at a club, so many players sitting watching when they could be playing weekly for other clubs in the top flight

Yeah no doubt.

The ticket prices this year are so high, but combined with the hotels and travel it's gonna cost a small fortune to go.

Aye and your average working class man or woman has no chance of going to cheer the lads on

This will be the 16th world cup, I would have followed.

But this time I hope it will be a disaster.

Then we might get it back how it used to be. Now it just about money, the fans are being shafted.

It's even harder this year with it played in 3 countries. The plane tickets alone won't be cheap to travel between games.

It's a shame that it's only for the rich now.

I love football more than anything and the World Cup is the pinnacle of the sport. I love the build up to it and everything associated with it but sadly I’m not feeling the love of this upcoming tournament. FIFA has always been as bent as a 9 bob note but proves it more than this one. Why is it being held across an entire continent ??? Why couldn’t a football rich country like Mexico be the sole host ? The real supporters unfortunately don’t stand a chance.

There's lots of new rules for this one, allegedly. To get rid of time wasting and faking injury.

If the referee feels a player is deliberately taking too long on a throw-in or goal kick, they will instigate a five-second countdown, at the end of which the team will be penalized.

The ref will raise their hand to begin the countdown. If the ball isn't in play by the time that is over, then possession will be reversed. If it's a throw-in then another throw-in will be awarded to the opponents; if it's a goal kick then a corner will be awarded to the opponents.

If a player is injured they get taken off immediately and cannot come back on until at least a minute. No wasting time sat on the pitch.

No player is allowed to cover their mouth when speaking. If they do they could get a booking. I think this is in response to racism allegations.
