Especially the stotties you can get from the bread section in Greggs, they only about a quid and are massive

Can't get stotties anywhere down south unfortunately. Not even Greggs!

Don't think I've had pease pudding since I was a teenager. An aunt always had a stock of it. Seen it in cans in a supermarket but not for years.

I’ve made my own pease pudding quite a few times and it’s great with ham. I never knew that it was such a local thing until I mentioned it to someone from miles away and they didn’t know what I was on about. A friend of mine called it “Geordie Dahl”.

I never knew it was a regional thing. The aunt, I mentioned above and who always served it up, was a Northamptonshire girl rather than a Northumberland one.

My mum used to make it. Split orange peas boiled thenn put through a hand operated mouligrater which looked like hard work to mince it up. Ham stock added to make a thick puddingy mix. It tasted good.

Anyone got a recipe they use?
