What do you usually spend on a loaf of bread these days? It's crazy to see some supermarkets charging £5.15 for a seeded sourdough.

I bake my own, as that much bread nowadays is chock full of crap.

I don't eat much bread but periodically go to the polish bakery stall at the market and get a long fermented sourdough for 3.50 ish.

Not cheap but I get it sliced and freeze it as lasts me a few weeks, and tastes way better than any supermarket offering.

Bispham, Blackpool.

Aldi Superseded is the best bread ever, it's got such a light texture when toasted

If you're willing to pay £5 for a loaf of bread than more fool you that's completely outrageous.

I make my own every Sunday morning. Real bread the way it should be. Not the manufactured chemical experiments disguised as bread. People have forgotten what real foods taste like.

Kingsmill 50/50 is my preference for sandwiches.

The Co-op Irresistible cheese & chive sliced sourdough is very good.

Sourdough has an unfortunate windy side-effect on me though...

I’ve baked my own bread for years, it’s easy to do and very satisfying.
