For the Tea drinkers amongst us what is the right way to make the perfect cuppa

Tea Bag

Water

Milk

Sugar

Stir

Is it Milk in last you so can judge the strength or milk in first?

Boiling water into the cup

Cheap tea bag quickly dipped 2 or 3 times.

Tiny but of sugar

Drop of milk

Stir.

It should be almost a magnolia colour, any darker and its too strong.

I always put the milk in first after the teabag - and like the way it comes out - however appreciate others may make it differently

I put my sugar in with the teabag purely because I know how much I like. Apart from that same order.

Milk last ALWAYS! Anyone who puts it in first is a wrong 'un in my eyes! 😂

As for strength, the perfect cup of tea should be the same colour as the perfect slice of toast & vice versa.

Should definitely be milk at the end if you are using a tea bag, if you put the milk in directly on the bag the fat in the milk clogs the bag and prevents it from properly brewing.

The custom of putting milk in the cup first was back when bone china couldn't handle very hot liquid and would crack, this was with loose leaf tea made in a pot. So you would put the milk in the cup first and when the hot tea hit the milk it cool down enough not to break the china cup.

Personally I prefer loose leaf tea, but I'm lazy these days so it's Yorkshire teabags lol

It’s not something people use these days unfortunately which is a shame as i personally think it makes a great cuppa

Quality Tea bag

Hot water

Quick stir

Leave to brew minimum three minutes

Gently squeeze the tea bag against the cup

Add milk and sugar as required

An added compliment to a full English 👍

Tea should always be made in a pre heated tea pot and allowed time to 'steep' thus bringing out of the leaves some important nutrients. Swilling a tea bag briefly in a cup of water before chucking it is not a good idea.

I usually do this, mug, sweetener, teabag, water. allow to brew for 2 mins then remove bag after squeezing and add milk.

Sometimes I do use a pre-warmed teapot and it does taste better but if you time it correctly with the mug it is acceptable.

4, one last stir and use spoon to scoop T bag up and press against rim of cup/ mug on way up and out

4, milk..... Do not add milk till last stage and add to the strength you want

A man who puts the tea in before the milk is capable of anything!

You've no idea what manner of diabolical fiendishness they could get up to.

It's the very thin end of the wedge I tell you, decline of British civilization, etc. ect. etc.

For me brewing my tea is a ritual/ ceremony to be savoured.

I have a classic Sona Stainless Steel Teapot. Perfect pourer.

Warm the pot first.

Yorkshire loose tea only. I have a Tea caddy and a dedicated tea spoon. One for the pot and one for me.

Milk first into a china mug.

Pour boiling water onto the tea. Allow to brew for three minutes. Ideally add a tea cosy to keep your pot warm.

Pour tea through a tea strainer and then enjoy your brew.

Enjoy.

With a slice of buttered Bara Brith or a home-made scone with raspberry jam and clotted cream in the traditional Cornish way.

If your just making a single, then pre warm the mug with boiling water.

One Assam and one Earl Grey teabag. Poor on your freshly boiled water. Add a teaspoon of honey and let the whole thing steep for a couple of minutes. Remove the teabags and add milk until between brick and mortar coloured.

Yorkshire tea. Because I love to see the pickers working in the Barnsley tea plantations. Teabag first, squeeze well, and the rest follows.

Milk before teabag is just not British, but is the usual practice in Bangladeshi restaurants

Loose tea, in a warmed porcelain teapot.

Anyone who puts milk in before the mashing process need a lobotomy..the Yorkshireman has spoken!

Black Tea - Boiling water - mash to your desired strength - Sweeten to your desired taste if you take it - Then add Milk if you take it..

Green Tea - Boiling water - sweeten to taste - no milk

Moroccan Mint Tea - Green tea - boiling water - add a few sprigs of fresh mint - Mash for a few minutes - sugar if taken - no milk

God i love tea

Teabag in

Pour on boiling water,

Quick stir,

back to the computer, forget about tea..

Remember tea,

pop in microwave 1 min full throttle

Answer phone..wander off.. do other things..

Suddenly remember tea…!

Extract rock solid teabag, re blitz in the microwave for 1 1/2 mins

Add milk…

Best brew of the day…!! So strong it is dissolving the teaspoon and etching the mug…
