Not from this site but to prove it happens, on another well known site which was popular a few years ago. I attracted the attention of a deranged stalker who would send me bizarre messages. Initially it was amusing. Then his messages became threatening, and he had clearly gone to extremes to find out about my life, right down to my car reg and where I worked. I reported it to the police, who advised me to stop engaging. Non-engagement led to him using my pictures including face to set up dozens of profiles offering all sorts of weird and wonderful sex. He arranged hookups and men would turn up at my door and at my work at all hours. Police traced him via the site. He wntire life fell apart and he went to prison for a time.

Not as bad as that but on a black and gold app beginning with g lol

He wasn't threatening during messages ...just went on for months with little messages back and forth...until he said he'd seen me out and knew where I lived, he described it so he did know, he'd been using the distance thing as a rough idea, plus I'd inadvertently let slip some info, plus got lucky....he must have been putting it all together for months. I said not interested fuck off, couple of weeks later he approached me when I was out and about.

All nice..I really like you etc....but I was not happy.

Big more cagey now...

Not on here, but a popular forum style social media platform, had a young guy I'd met up with once, and decided he wasn't for me and didn't want to meet him again, just had a weird vibe. He continued to pursue me, despite me telling him no, eventually I had to block him. Couple of weeks go by and had another young guy contact me, turns out it was him again, created a new account just to contact me. This goes on and on again and again for about 9 months. He wasn't threatening or anything, more pathetic than anything, but it was a bit disconcerting how persistent he was being. I guess he eventually gave up.

Years ago in the early days of the internet and gaydar, I suddenly was getting loads of pop up messages from people calling me *names* and that I was sick etc etc.

Someone had copied my profile pic and details, used the same profile name but added a '*' after it. So at first glance it was the same profile.

This person would enter a chat room, saying they were looking for a particular age ( use your imagination there) then leave the chat room. People saw his profile name and assumed it was me.

Reported and blocked but only happened the once, fortunately.
