Having watched both Vinny Jones in the country and his Netflix documentary I can’t help but admire him for coming through depression and beating his Demons
For a man who “some” say was a thug on the Football pitch it isn’t until you actually watch both of the above that you realise how easy it is to misinterpret someone he was just passionate with a burning desire to win and fight for the shirt which imo is what a real footballer is.
He’s a top bloke who has come through some of the darkest times a man can go through mentally both during his later playing years to his retirement and loss of his first Wife.
The fact he has been through it means he knows exactly what’s needed to defeat the Demons which is far more than any Doctor or so called Professional can do and imo he’s far more qualified to give advice than those in question.
It’s only when you’ve been through it that you can fully understand what i mean and that is why he is a fantastic advocate for Mens Mental Health
I also love his views on the great outdoors and being at one with Nature which is something many don’t appreciate but it’s a great way to shut out the Demons and feel at peace
To any guys out there who maybe struggling i highly recommend you take the time out to watch his show both Life in the Country and his Netflix documentary it’s a must watch and will show you that even the hardest of Men can suffer from mental health issues
Just remember that there is no shame whatsoever to admit you need help it’s a show of strength not weakness 👊
