"'A man believed to be Somali has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a "brutal" knife attack in Belfast, police have said. The man, in his 30s, remains in custody after the incident in north Belfast at about 22:30 BST on Monday. Video circulating online shows a number of people, including one wielding a hurling stick, confronting the apparent attacker until the police arrived. A man injured in the attack, aged in his 40s, is in hospital where his condition is described as serious.' * I've seen the video in question and it seems as if he's attempting to behead the victim. Various comments on social media suggest that the victim has also been stabbed in both eyes. I've also read that Protestant Loyalists are 'requesting' that young men take to the streets in protest this evening, and that businesses in the vicinity close early. They have also said that they plan to close a large number of roads in the area. I just hope they don't take this out on innocent people, or police officers." And apart of the UK still patrolled on occasion by armoured cars, and military patrols. I find the outrage hard to credit to be honest. Most of it is comming from the same quarters that thought "traveling with thier mate Stanley to a football match" was a badge of honour. | |||

"As said above main thing is hopefully no innocents, PSNI, etc come to harm from some mob of vile flag shaggers. BBC radio first reported this as a serious stabbing incident in Ulster. That was all.. no detail. Now I, just like everyone else, immediately asked myself - why does such an item make the national news. Sadly just on its own it does not belong as a top of the news story. So I speculate and conclude, of course, that there must be a Southampton type race element, perpetrator or victim. Thats why its the lead item. This is confirmed when a senior PSNI voice appears in later bulletins saying wait for the facts and calling for restraint. So,why does the BBC put out limited/restricted but telling news which is bound to promote possibly harmful speculation. Seems like the newsmonger's protocols on how to react to a race element event are just as F'd up as those of the current beat copper. Some of you should really catch yourselves on 🥱🥱." I live in North London which has its nice areas and not so nice areas. It's definitely not the countryside but has no shortage of crime, violence, immigration and racist attacks. As with Belfast we also have a majority of hard working decent people from all types of backgrounds who are appalled by this type of behaviour.
