Trying to go Asexual

As the header says, I'm trying to give up homosexuality, it's a dead end and ultimately depressing, I've never had a relationship with a guy and never will now, too old and ugly, can only look forward to occasional meaningless sex with strangers which is potentially risking my health. Also danger of letting complete strangers unto my home and neighbours potentially talking.

Has anyone tried this?

Is it possible?

(I suppose anyone who successfully has is unlikely to be using this app now)

Sounds like you are doing it all in secret so you’ll never be happy with it because the acts feel shameful to you.

Try an actual dating website or get yourself out in the world. This place is like that bar from Star Wars

Whenever I try to de-emphasize the side of myself that’s into guys, it keeps roaring back before very long, tbh.

As another commenter said, it sounds like it would be a healthier thing for you to get out into the world more, spending more time on stuff where sex (of any kind) isn’t the main (or any) consideration anyway. Hobbies, events, fitness (for self-confidence), etc.

This post makes me feel sad. I believe there is someone for everyone for those that look, unless you're some kind of weirdo. Some people are better people when they're single. I'm gay and incredibly happy and that happiness comes from so many things unrelated to my sexuality. Do you have to live with your sexuality a secret? I think that would make anyone depressed.

In the masturbator communities, the term Solosexual exists.

It's someone who has mostly given up having sex and has decided they'd rather masturbate

I'm from a tough working class town in the West of Scotland and live on a council estate, so yes.

Its not a wonder you're depressed then. Any chance you could move? I doubt you're the only person in your situation on your estate. My first boyfriend lived on a council estate in Fife, very working class, everyone knew everyone. He was petrified of people finding out so I do have some empathy. He moved, but as I said to him, everyone already suspected anyway.

It's actually quite a nice street lol, but it's a council house, so lucky if you even get one, realistically any council area is going to be the same.

Why not take the pressure off yourself and instead of hookups think about social activities with like minded people...say you're into fishing or hiking or motor racing...see if you can find a social gay group associated with it?

Some posts are on here or start your own...it Google to see what's out there??

Just a thought...not sure how good it is lol

I just wish there was a pill or injection 💉 you could take that could make you asexual.

There's plenty of medications that effectively kill off libido. Not sure that is the answer though.
