Christians have Christian names, people who aren't Christian, such as myself, have first names or fore-names.

If anything is backward it's the assumption that non-Christians have a Christian name.

I was given four first names. I've used two of them over the years. Technically they are all Christian names because I was christened with them and they are all names of Christian saints albeit minor ones.

I have Christian name that I heartily dislike - I won’t even publish my real name here. I don’t know what my parents were thinking of. So I call myself Paul: that’s quite Christian I think.

Considering what I’m going through I think it’s safe to say that I don’t like my given name. Soon it will be my deadname

Okay it is one of the 4 names I got lumbered with though I have rarely used it other than on legal documents. I don't mind it though.

Really only my close family use my first name, my mates use my surname as a nickname.

I'm fine with mine, other than having to emphasise to spell it with a v and not pH!😏

Use my middle name as I hate my first name. Was named after two family members but never met either of them. Both long dead

Parents gave me unremarkable and boring Christian names, but they did fuck-all about the comedy surname, which I often thought about changing when I was at school. Children can be so cruel.

It's a dated phrase. Given name or first name are generally used now. Considering most people in the UK aren't even christian why would you use it

i was watching "Mutiny On The Bounty" the other night. (The Anthony Hopkins - Mel Gibson one.)

Fletcher Christian had "Christian" as his surname. Apparently, there are lots of Christians on Pitcairn Island now.

I wonder if many of them have "Christian" as their first names? Or middle names? And would the term "Christian" be used to distinguish one of them from an atheist?

eg: Christian Christian Christian Christian.

Bit like Major Major Major Major in Catch-22.
