I'm primarily a top. But have attempted to btm a few times. I find it somewhat uncomfortable (due to a burning sensation not penetrative pain itself) I don't want to kill my pain reception as that could be dangerous but does anyone know anything I could try to help. No matter how much lube i use it makes no difference

Use a different lube? Some do burn the old ring a bit. Get one specifically for anal sex and don't buy the cheapest.

When I had my last prostate exam the doctor sprayed some kind of numbing spray onto my anus. It felt cold for a couple of seconds but certainly worked as I was hardly aware of the lube he them applied or his probing finger. Would like to have asked him what it was as I've found anal sex quite painful.

I used to use a lube called Analeze which is mildly anaesthetic. I no longer need it but a side effect seemed to be that it slightly numbed the top and he could fuck me much longer before cumming
