I've had this happen to a friend, not an xbox card but another online prepaid credit thing.

Same situation, it's to keep nephews/ kids occupied, can you get a card on your way over and I'll give you the cash.

The guy gives his postcode and says will give house number when you arrive.

When you arrive at the postcode and make contact, they ask for the number and pin code of the card so they can sort it out before the meet.

If you remember topping up PAYG phones with a pre paid card? It's the same, the card itself has a number and a pin code which you need to scratch off to reveal. Once it's put into the online account, the money is gone.

So you've arrived at a postcode, with a prepaid card, they ask for the number and pin code before they give you the house number.

Once you give them the info, you never hear from them again.

They very likely aren't anywhere near the postcode either.

In a galaxy far far away

This is not new, people on hook up sites have tried this for years.

But it's good to highlight it for those who don't know about it.

I had this on another site and like you strung it out.

Like you say you grt invited but they have family member home.

They ask you to get an xbox card or something to keep them busy and couple of beers.

The more i talked the bigger the shopping list got

Gift card scams are commonly used by fraudsters. Once the card has been bought, the scammer will demand the card's unique code. It can then be used or sold on through various websites that trade in unused cards.

I've arrived at an address only to find the number doesn't exist, but I knocked on a door nearby anyway, call it intuition. A guy who looked like a much older version of the pic I received answered. He looks very nervy and claimed not the know who I was, looking behind him, the house was in disarray, which was at odds with the exterior and the rest of the street. I saw him watching from an upstairs window through the blinds as I went back to the car, some people are fucking weird abd getting off on shit like this

Well... Apart from the scam, this would put me off ...

'keep my son or nephew busy'

So the child is there when the arse reaming is in progress.

That's a hard no from me, thanks.

Exactly, there would be no chance I'd be going to meet someone if they were doing this.
