Yes, it seems to ha amused a lot of people. Nicola desperately treading water to survive the scandal. It appears that little of the stuff purchased with the proceeds was actually used or needed! Even the judge when passing sentance was confused about the motive, but examples have to be made to deter others. Maybe this guy was more sick than criminal?

How the hell did this go on without Sturgeon being at least slightly aware of it? Alex Salmond was -

The random nature of the purchases suggests that Murrell was addicted to shopping - a recognised disorder - but there are other possibilities, such as a naive attempt at laundering the money he embezzled.

He's probably a gay shopping addict.

Hope they find a nice easy open prison for him.

Then he can turn to good deeds like they all do, become a reformed character, take up charity work (but nothing too hands on) and get an OBE

Given the terrible risks he took and all he had to lose, I suggest there may be some mental health issue behind it all. He must have known that at some point he would be discovered. The certainty of those who were close to him that he is simply a foolish, petty thief seems to lack any questioning of why he did all this and greater concern not to be associated with him over any wider attempt at understanding other motivations.

We may well get to learn more and the stone throwers will need to ask themselves questions.

I may of course be entirely wrong but something tells me this is more complicated than we are presently expected to believe.

The Scottish upper class have extremely fine tastes dont you know. Lots of Jura Coffee machines in Edinburgh kitchens just like the Murrell one. I really do recommend one.

Yes, I think a compulsive Amazon shopper looking at his purchases. Really a form of addiction that needs treatment rather than a prison sentence.

Exactly, not missed on most with straight forward common sense. And there's her quick exit from her role, which no one foresaw.

What a farce on both behalves.

What amused me was the motorhome parked along side his mothers house yet his Mrs never saw it blinkered in politics blinkered to theft
