"If he really believes in it then why not relocate the House of Commons and the other place to Conference centres somewhere Northern. With purpose built dormitory accommodation for MP's The existing buildings could then be demolished, after all they are only Victorian Gothic (with the exception of Westminster Hall). The cleared site could then be redeveloped into high rise social housing.. Problem solved ....." Whilst the Grade One listed Palace of Westminster is being restored [it is after all a national if not internal iconic building] it was proposed that the House of Lords be relocated up north. Leeds was suggested. Why not a big barn on a Yorkshire farm? Bit of a long walk though for MPs when they are summons for the State Opening of Parliament. | |||
