Their are many alternatives sports, most are pay per view and a few are still free to view.

There is the world cup, which is on only every 4 years. Wimbledon is on, but manly during the day. And cricket is only the highlights.

If you are talking about other types of programs, please let us know which type you are looking for?

So the answer is no I'm not pissed off.

God no! What with World Cup, Wimbledon, cricket and Formula 1 this coming weekend I'll be spending my time asleep to avoid it. There is a limit to how much a sane human being can stand

You realise there's a lot more channels than BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Ch4.... right?

The idea should be to have a balance of programs, music, drama comedy travel etc. Instead we're getting great blocks of sport lasting 2/3 hours a time. And this will go on till 19th July?

Rawcliffe Bridge.

It used to do in the 1970s onwards, as BBC1 had Grandstand, and ITV had World of Sport on Saturday afternoons, and can't remember when Ski Sunday was on, it that was also too much.

I was quite happy when both Grandstand and World of Sport finished.

Apart from sport the only time I watch traditional TV is when I'm eating a meal, and it's normally the news.

There's so many better options out there.

Look if your not a fan of sport then theirs plenty of ways to avoid it. Every 2 years theirs a major football tournament and Olympics. Wimbledon is every summer and the f1 is only for 8/9 months the year. As others have said most sport is behind the pay wall but theirs a few select sports that remain free to view

Wolverhampton

It makes a great change from the hours and hours of soaps, reality tv, cop shows, cooking shows and chat shows that are inflicted on the population for the other 48 weeks of the year.

Nelson,, Caerphilly

Not a problem for me. Viewing habits have changed considerably. I hardly watch any linear TV anymore.

Everything is on demand or catch up. Just finished Last Airbender on NF. Last episode of Tip Toe on All4. Gonna enjoy Dutton Ranch now on Paramount+.

Prob will sit down for the Wimbledon finals. 🎾

I only have Freeview TV , Pay my licence but no other subscription , I just done a quick glance at the choice of programmes I could watch at 7pm on 1/7/2026 ( while the England V Congo programme is on ):,, I can select from roughly 80 stations , only 2 of which are broadcasting sport

Yes, have been for decades, that's another reason I've dumped television, as I have no Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV, etc, etc, so pay no TV tax either.
