I'm travling to Reading area soon and staying in a hotel whilst there.

Thinking betwen a Primer Inn or an IHG hotel. I want to of course access Fab via the hotel network-internet. Has anyone done it at either of these or do you get blocked-bar'd from fab-adult sites?

You will have no restrictions in a premier Inn but the IHG hotels have blocked all access to all adult sites

Hi Steelballs, thanks for your quick repley! Fair call I did think of it but.....

Two ressons:

One, O2 Block adult content by default and will only unblock if I have a credit card which I don;t. Have loads of debit cards etc but they say it MUST be a credit card

Two, I'm on a PAYG mobile so don't get a lot of Data and cost an arm and a leg.

Take your phone into an O2 shop as long as you have photo of they can unblock it there

Don't want to use a VPN, read no end of security IT reports about how VPN's skim of your info etc and how everyone thinks there all secure and most of them that an't the case.

So from what you two are saying ( _ypher and _aturebi60 ) that it may just be some IHG hotels that block them or do your know for a fact Maturebi60 that IHG do block access.

Like look or larger rooms in IHG so think will be better for a meet- hoping a grp one!

😜.. You want to do all this and your on a payg phone and don't want to use a vpn?

You can buy a portable WiFi hot-spot which uses a sim, that you top up. But you'd still need to contact the provider and remove the adult block.

I'd stay at home if I were you

As I only use it for making calls, odd to do on a mobile phone I know nowadays. It's very cheap for that but the down side is date is very expensive.

I don’t think people are taking the piss as such lol

It just looks like there could be a very simple solution to a problem that’s not really there if you know what I mean?

Just use a VPN, or go to o2 shop. Problem solved x

You can get a 30 day rolling contract for as little as £10 or £15 a month, with more than enough data to do what you want.

Look at lebara, EE or giff gaff

You have to pay for WiFi at Prem Inn, something like £5.99 a day.

I just use my mobile service. Unlimited on Smarty.

Couple of solutions also.

If you have a laptop get an Internet dongle payg

30 day sim only plan, gives you minutes, text and data, and significantly cheaper than payg simcard. Most providers are able to keep your mobile number as well.

Alternatively, go to the local gay quarter of the city and pick up a guy

I'm on Vodafone and PAYG I get 20gb for a tenner. So it's not that expensive if you shop around. So option are as I said before go to an O2 shop with photo.id and they can remove the block (free) or buy a throwaway SIM card (£11) or use a VPN (free).

Not relating to WiFi, but meets at prem inn and IHG and access for guests. All prem inns are key card access only to room floors, and most IHG, makes meets a little awkward when you have to go down and meet the guy in reception.

On the WiFi note, these hotels WiFi speeds are complete pants and just make it so painful to surf for cock, if you don't have much data, I'd suggest getting a check sin only data plan as a second SIM and set your phone up to use that sin for data, then just toss it out once finished.

An arm and a leg? Lebara is less than £5 for 10Gb a month, which is plenty for most people. What deal are you currently on?

You can get 100gb SIMcards for £10-12 per month. Pay as you go is never cheaper for what you get.

If you're willing to put a bit of effort into the setup, you can always create a tunnelled proxy server.

Leave a machine running at home - a raspberry pi 3 will do - with proxy server software running and SSH into it. You can set it to use ports that aren't blocked by most firewalls. Divert your traffic into an SSH tunnel to your proxy server and surf as if you were at home.

You know full well that the OP does not have anywhere near the capabilities of installing such a setup. There's also no need for it either.

Lebara: 5Gb for £5/month. Includes 1000 phone minutes.

Been using it for a couple of years, first in a mobile hotspot, and now in a phone. Connection is 10X better than EE mobile, too.

I’ve stayed in premier inn and previously used the WiFi for fab without any issues, not the fastest but should work ok for trying to arrange a meeting, and possibly post in meets and events and try and pre arrange as much as possible where you’re comfortable enough to exchange numbers so you’re just messaging or calling
