Some big money being spent all ready by Clubs with Man City set to buy Elliott Anderson for £116 million and Spurs apparently having a bid Tonali from the Mags accepted for £98 million not to mention Gordon’s transfer to Barca for £80 million

Could this be a record spending season in the Premier League??

Who would you like to see your club sign and if you support one of the smaller teams can you keep hold of your big players??

I’m hoping my team Sunderland can keep hold of Zhaka as he has been linked with a move away to Chelsea according to reports we rejected the very embarrassing and quite frankly insulting off of £8 million

He’s worth at least double that and it’s nice to see us holding firm especially as we aren’t in any financial pressure to sell

I’m sure once the World Cup is over we will see some real movement across the Premier League as clubs battle to bring in players that can improve them

This will be an interesting thread to read as it develops but it is the silly season for transfer rumours. I tend to ignore them until they are moving from rumour to something more genuine.

I’m a Villa fan so we will need a keeper if Martinez decides to leave; a right back as cover for Matty Cash, a couple of wide players and another striker, I’d have Rashford back in an instant.

As for whether we have to sell to buy because of SCR, who knows!

I’m the same mate I never really believe any transfer rumour until it’s announced by the club itself it’s like the Zhaka rumours he has just recently said how he and his family are very settled in Sunderland as it reminds him of home and he made that speech on the final day of the season saying how as our captain this was the beginning

With Regards to Villa it’s vital you keep Martinez he’s a quality keeper and tbh I would agree about Rashford i would love to see him at Sunderland

It is all the money that will eventually finish the game. Players on ludicrous amounts of money, i remember the first £1million pound transfer, you wouldnt get a tea lady for that now. Majority of clubs in the premier league that will never win a trophy, how long will their fans keep "making the numbers up".

As a long suffering Spurs fan I'm more than happy with the refreshing new approach we're taking and the business we've done so far - yeah Tonali and Fernandes are big money buys but the three frees we've picked up have been wise ones too.

Hoping it doesn't end here either - we need a striker capable of putting the ball in the net 25-30 times a season and so far Solanke doesn't look like he fits the bill.

Mayenda from Sunderland to Rennes

Promising young lad who never really got a real crack in the premier league last season but he will always be remembered fondly at Sunderland especially for his cracking goal in the Play Off final

The best thing with regards to transfers so far has to be Sunderland holding firm against one of the “big” clubs in London and not backing down to them

They clearly thought they’d could walk all over us because we are a Northern Club now wrong they were 😁

. Very good signing- the irony is that we had to sell pandur and another to comply with pl turnover rules… even though we were banned ftom buying any players last season- i really do not understand the convoluted rules… good that the pl big boys do though eh!!!

He’s a good experienced keeper Butland and that is vital in the premier league you need to have players with experience especially for any of the younger players in the Squad

As for the “big clubs” doing what they want with regards to the rules etc etc don’t get me started

That’s why I was buzzing when my club Sunderland and Zhaka turned down the offer from Chelsea 8 million was a bloody insult to us a club and it was brilliant to see KLD stand his ground

Aye we might be a Northern club but we won’t back down to the big clubs and it also showed the draw of London doesn’t always mean more to a player.

Zhaka gets it and he will go down in Sunderland history as a absolute legend he’s one of us now 🔴⚪️

Butland's left-hand side is his achilles heel. He cost sevco many a time with that part of his game.

Decent keeper still but the succulent stenography corp's hyperbole around him was obvious.

Hull should look elsewhere. A malign influence in the dressing room as well.

If the portrait of Charles could talk?

Are sevco the only team in world football to have a painting of King Chaz in their dressing room?

I would think so. USP or what.

Haven't read much as to who McInnes is after. They will be scrabbling about in the bargain basement though bearing in mind their usual fragile finances...

Good luck to Dan Neil who signed for Rangers unfortunately the Premier League was just a step to far for him and we rightly didn’t give him him a new contract but I’m sure he will be a good signing for them and he will have found his level

Will be keeping a eye on how he does

I rest my case. The tribute act at work. McInnes simply can't go out and spend £10m on a player. That will irk him as he is a chequebook manager.

Why would it be bearing in mind Scotland has a population of 5-6m.

There was plenty interest across the globe at the end of last season when Celtic saw off the pseudo lot to win the title in the most exciting of circumstances.

A match for the ages. Gutted so the twirlers were.

The look on McInnes's coupon when it sunk in he had blown it again!

I tend not to get too hyped up about potential transfers unlike some of the idiots on AFTV, I'd rather just wait until things are confirmed than rant on with meaningless speculation.

That said, I'm not convinced that Gyokeres is good enough for us, and a player like Julián Alvarez would be an upgrade.

Also, the young French/Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has really placed himself in the shop window during the world cup. He's currently at Lille and Arsenal have been linked with him but we're certainly not the only ones.

The biggest league=most cash floating around. English teams do not dominate in terms of winning the CL season after season..

There is no doubting the abundance of quality players but ultimately size equates to money.

Still be a big draw for players mate just look at your team Arsenal they will attract big players if they continue on the route they are going

I think you are one top goal scorer from being a dominant team in the Premier League especially now Pep has moved on
