Last time I actually bought a daily newspaper was just before the 2019 Rugby World Cup because it had a very good 8 page pull out guide. I was buying a local paper up until lockdown. Stopped because lack of sports reports and other interesting articles

Newspaper industry in rapid decline, the price of a newspaper is ridiculous, by the time you get them it is old news anyway.

"Newspaper industry in rapid decline, the price of a newspaper is ridiculous, by the time you get them it is old news anyway."

And the non-news bits are written by Phil Space and Phillippa Page. For bored trendies trying to avoid the tedium of a comfortable existence.

I regularly buy a physical newspaper as well as books, I also miss good old cash, generation thing? Maybe, but for me it's not the same reading off a screen. Just a thought as well guys, the increasing reliance on the internet to deliver everything to your door or device for me is quite sad, I understand the convenience but the lack of human interaction you get by ordering online versus simply popping into your local shop to buy say a paper and a pint of milk is alarming, sadly some people are not learning how to interact with others outside of their homes which equates to general impatience and rudeness when they are forced to interact, if you dont know any different or haven't been taught any different then the way you are becomes the norm. Put the device down and go and buy and say hallo. Once these places and services and products have gone they are gone! Living in a ghost town indeed!!

If I stop for something to eat on the motorway, I generally buy the paper to read. Otherwise, haven’t bought one in decades.

I sometimes buy the Daily Mail for the puzzle pages. The entire thing goes in the bin unread. Just want the puzzles!

If you don’t read papers, you’re uninformed

If you do read papers, you are misinformed

I buy papers on a daily basis. Far better than sitting at a screen. Yes, cost has risen, this morning I paid over £5 for two weekend editions but I wouldn't stop as I can take them where I like

Had a job delivering free newspapers as a kid, then they became paid for after 4 weeks and almost evrybody stopped buying one, roll on working in industry everyone bought one, now very few do,even the free Metro at rail stations and on buses is left.

Newspapers wil be gone within 5 years just a huge waste of paper and effort

The Sunday Times used to be great 20-30 years ago, and the magazine that came with it was always very good too.

It was the only paper I ever bought, but it declined in my opinion, and I haven’t bought one for about 20 years.

Speaking as an ex newspaper boy, I will be pleased when they all go out of print

I delivered newspapers every Sunday from 7am to Noon from 1960 to 1965, and when I finished I had to go home and spend the afternoon doing homework for 8 GCE 'O' levels. Then at the age of 16 left school and started work

I cursed the new colour supplements and free samples, my bay was so heavy it split one day and all the newspapers went in a very wet gutter

I still love my saturday morning routine of popping for a paper then relaxing with a coffee or two whilst reading- love it more for the sports section than the news but goid to physically flick through the pages.

I subscribe to the digital edition of a newspaper and download it to my tablet. It's very handy when I'm traveling overseas.

I usually buy one when I’m on holiday. It’s the only time I have the spare time to actually sit down and have a leisurely breakfast and read a paper. I do enjoy it and find it relaxing.

Other times it’s just a quick scan of the headlines on my phone.
