"Graham Roberts "

Ultimate hard man - was at a European game at WHL once where a Robert Sara of the opposition had been dishing it out to one of our young players - next time Robbo got the ball he went round four opposition players and headed directly towards Sara with the ball at his feet - just before Robbo reaches him he pushes the ball a touch forward, Sara comes for it and Robbo absolutely clatters him - Sara was quiet the rest of the game.

vinny jones, not a hard man, he was all talk, put Steve McMahon out of the game at wembley, next season, McMahon got his own back, vinny taken off pitch on a stretcher, McMahon was even classed as hard, vinny jones was just a dirty player, squeezing players balls etc, he knew he was protected on a footbal pitch

Cracking bloke in real life though who has beaten his demons and has turned his like around massively he is also a big supporter of Men’s mental health

I highly recommend watching his TV show Life in the country and you might just have a different opinion of him

Tommy Smith tops my list, along with Norman Hunter.

Gerry Byrne was also pretty tough (a bit before my time) - he played most of the 1965 FA Cup final with a broken collar bone.

Neil Ruddock - me and a couple of mates went to his house after d*unken night out, and got even more d*unk, lol.
