Kemikaze at the Despatch Box. She just doesn't come across as someone who is going to save the tories. Just another careerist who got lucky by circumstance- the dearth of quality in the party.

The pushed out many of the more moderate members in pursuit of Brexit and basically alienated their more centrist support. The right wingers left have now defected to Reform it appears so they're in rather a pickle I'd say.

Respectfully beg to disagree. I think she performs well at the dispatch boxes. Very calm and certainly gets old Keir rattled. I had serious doubts about her and still have reservations. Twice now we party members ended up with a poor choice [yes I am a party member Richey so don't faint] Four years ago it was Truss v Sunak neither of whom I rated or favoured. Two years ago it was Kemi v Jenrick after the far superior candidates, Cleverly and Tugendhat, had been eliminated.

What happens at the next election no one can predict. A lot with depend on whether Burnham succeeds where Starmer failed, and whether the Faragite bubble has burst.

This was the thing about the witch-hunt against Starmer. They always -conveniently- overlooked the sottor he inherited.

I think how the Conservative Party does depends more on other people than on them.

In the same way that Mr Starmer only did well because of how bad his opponents were, rather than because of how good he was.

If Mr Burnham can turn things around, they won’t come close at the next election.

Mr Farage, whilst not facing a burst bubble, has one that is very stretched and won’t take much more to burst. So I’m not sure he will be around for the next election if I’m honest.

As for if there will be a Conservative Party in existence or not, then you only need thing back to the number of times the Labour Party have been considered dead to know the answer.

Extinction & good riddance. I once heard a member describe the party as the waiting room at Dignitas. The av. member's age in 2001 was 67.

Tories might be okay as reform UK looks like it's about to implode lol.

I think the lib Dems have a bigger chance of winning the next general election than the Tories lol.

BoJo got rid of all the traditional Tories and now those that remain after the gaggle that defected to Reform look distinctly second division as well. Mel Stride the shadow chancellor doubled the welfare budget during his time as secretary of state at the DWP.

The future could be coalition politics for a while.

Which means room for the negotiators in there.

Could she even work with the Emperor of the Norf.

That could be said of all parties. I heard recently that the average age of Reform members was well in their 60s. Probably true of the Labour Party as well. Grass roots politics seems to attract the older person these days. Possibly the Greens are more likely to attract the young and foolish.

The witch-hunt against Starmer was admittedly a tit-for-tat exercise after Starmer and co's witch-hunt against Boris and his successors. Not condoning it but did sit back and watch will amusement and a tin of Quality Street [I hate popcorn] Inevitable really. I guessed--predicted--it would happen. You reap what you sow 'n all that. Sad state of affairs but the whole country seems to have descended into gutter politics.

I think there is a very large silent proportion of the electorate who will vote for Kemi, the Conservatives. It’s happened before when people chose silence in the face of being battered by the media and popular opinion

It's just a matter of time before Labour get kicked out.

They've increased the debt, massive tax rises, and look set to miss house building targets.

Even the 1 in 1 out migrant plan has proved shite.

Who knows an increasingly desperate electorate will vote for.

My opinion the conservatives have an uphill battle to rebuild themselves. Labour are in a similar situation with there ongoing civil war. Truth is all politicians make promises during election campaigns then a few months down the line they break them
