Why do we do this?

Human nature apparently but fucking annoying after a variable elapsed period. A day, a month, longer?

What are your experiences?

You need to elaborate. I don't believe many people, including myself, will understand what you're getting at.

I guess you mean get rid of your clothes etc? Usually purges happen because they feel ashamed.

For me I never have, it's the way I am so I accept it and I enjoy it

Lots of examples.

TV/CD binning their collection of lingerie, only to come back to it a few weeks later.

A straight (yeah right) guy deleting his account after meeting someone.

As the OP said, part of human nature for some of us. I expect it’s more prevalent for people who are not “out”.

Desire builds, excitement builds, you act on that desire, the immediate excitement passes and guilt/self doubt sets in. Sometimes that passes quickly, other times not so much. You decide to lock away that part of your psyche - until the inevitable happens and the cycle begins again.

I think there are many reasons why people go through these cycles, I put mine down to good old Catholic guilt (even though I am not religious - it was drummed into me as a child - I can still hear the voices )

Done it many times with clothing, usually lingerie. it’s always through guilt, a month later and I return like a bee to honey.

This similar to sub drop thread I did a few weeks ago.

Some people deal with things differently. Which is obvious.

But I do understand that feeling after you have had a session with someone. I stay away from this site for a few days. All my sexual interest has gone. Then a few days later I want it again. So I come back.

Maybe it's feeling guilty or your just knackered lol?
