London Marathon Ballot

Oh well (and truly no real surprise here) but I got a ‘No’ in the ballot again!

And this is personally the final straw and the last time I will even bother entering!

If I can’t get in for the year they are doing it twice or any other time in the past ten years. Then why bother!

Yes that's because there are over a million who apply and the number of places is only in the tens (I think) of thousands.

So statistically the OP could expect to wait over 10 years.

Large marathons with 40k plus people (and now over 2 days?) are not very pleasant to run. There’s loads of marathons in smaller European towns that are much more fun with better food and drink at the end - imho

Another rejection.

Guy at work entered ballot first time and got a place!

Such is the luck of the draw.

Thankfully my running club has one place and that ballot has much better odds so all isn't lost just yet.

Agreed but I won't deny would be something special to do the London marathon just once.
