Sadly we get bigots in all walks of life but it does not make them bad unless they act on their bigotry in a violent or disgusting manner. I bet many of us know bigots yet even like them: parents, siblings, friends, work colleagues etc. Widders may have been anti gay in principle [often wondered if she had gay tendencies herself] but she didn't actually harm gay people. Remember once her sitting on a chat show trying to reason with a gay man. Sadly he was the one who came over as the bigot because he got enraged rather than calmly state his case.
