Hello, welcome to my guide, originally posted on fabswingers.

Etiquette

Generally you get to the counter, pay, and get given a towel and locker key. Obviously, cash is more discrete than a bank card, so consider that aspect before you go. Prices are generally between £15 to £20. Usually you don’t need a pound for the lockers, but always handy to have one. Some places have a towel ready for you in the locker, but if you’re not sure, ask! Depending what you have in mind, it is usually worth asking about condoms and lube – the trend seems to be to keep these behind the bar or counter rather than out for free use.

You will then be buzzed through into the sauna, and into the locker room. Unless it is a theme day, strip off and wrap yourself in the towel. Theme days can be sports wear, underwear, t-girl, etc. Usually these are optional about whether you follow the theme or not. The one which isn’t optional is naked day, where no towels are allowed. There are generally 2 approaches – the subtle is touching feet or legs, generally some body contact that indicates that you are interested. The second is just going for the cock! Either way, saying no is completely fine. So is asking to go somewhere more private. It depends on you, and what you want to do.

OP has good advice and the same can be applied for cruising areas, Only difference is saunas are safe.

as for cruising if no one makes the first move it's a wasted journey. If a couple of cars are parked up by all means pull in. My tips would be this.

Go to sauna. Do a ciruit of it and check out guys hanging around or walking round as well.

Realise you dont really want any of them.

Repeat cycle over and over until eventually locking your self in a room with gloryhole and hoping for the best.

Yes they definitely do. The one I go to has mostly terrible reviews online, that its dirty, the staff are rude etc. I go there about once a week, its always fairly clean (as best it can be), I'm friends with all the staff so its obvious these people didn't get laid so try and make other people not go

Etiquette

Generally you get to the counter, pay, and get given a towel and locker key. Obviously, cash is more discrete than a bank card, so consider that aspect before you go. Hang your towel up, and head in, and hopefully you’ll not be on your own. Sit down relax, and see who is about. There are a couple of points here. The first off, no one talks in a sauna. It is like the London Underground. So how do you make a move, or get made a move on? There are generally 2 approaches – the subtle is touching feet or legs, generally some body contact that indicates that you are interested. The second is just going for the cock! Either way, saying no is completely fine. So is asking to go somewhere more private. It depends on you, and what you want to do.

What is allowed?

I disagree with you and the OP about not talking, they're just insular people with limited conversational skills. Don’t be frightened by the saunas, I have been visiting them for 25yrs, never seen any trouble other than someone’s wife turning up at the Greenhouse Darlaston to confront her cross dressing husband. Two other points. If you have someone you want to meet but neither of you can accommodate, meet at a sauna , get a cabin and lock the door for privacy. Cheaper than a hotel and if the other person does not show, you can still have fun.

ive worn speedos in a gay sauna before and they're fine until you spend time in a steamroom. they get wet and dont dry out (unlike when you are in holiday) so you end up walking around in a wet suit which feels cold and damp if you have to pull them back on after taking them off.

In your hands lube is genereally provided in sachets not bottles, so its easy to carry that and a condom around. Or just stuff them in the top of your towel to free up your hands
