The area around the walled souk used to be very cruisey..plenty of the locals will be happy to ease your frustration i expect.

Someone I know got busted in a sting by the local filth who then extracted a nice sum from his friend to let him go.

That was a few years ago so maybe it's changed????

Go there several times a year but with straight friends so difficult to explore but I'm sure there is plenty of opportunities in town, outside of the Hotel. Went to a night club that apparently had a reputation for a pick up joint for Western guys looking for local girls. There did seem a few guys around my age dancing with local girls so I'm sure it was the case.
