I've been there lots of times on my own. I generally prefer staying in one of the gay clothing optional resorts (although they have become quite expensive) as you tend to meet more guys. But that may not be what you're looking for....

Yes some good friends of mine stayed in basement a few years back.

Lovely beaches, weather and then cruising and playing in the bars.

Perfect.

Oh and absolutely lovely fun staff in every cafe restaurant and bar.

Tricky one to give advice on, as you say there are so many. I have stayed in a few of the hotels but prefer bungalows or apartments near to the Yumbo centre as great for nightlife and you have flex re eating in or out and when you want to eat with no pressure of times to adhere to, also depends if you plan to be out most of the day as well. I spend very little time in my accommodation during the day as on the beach hence basic bungalows or apartments are best.
