Just because one TV comedy showed a small part of the town in caricature doesn't mean the whole place is like that. To be fair the "British end" isn't everyone's cup of tea (pun intended) but Benidorm has much more to offer than that. Some great restaurants, some of the best tapas bars in the region and fantastic beaches, among many other things. In the context of this site it has two good sex cinema's, some very good gay bars, at least two with cruising areas, and a nice gay sauna. Oh and it's cheap. If you can't find fun in Benidorm then best stay at home. | |||

I’m still a bit shy visiting gay bars, especially as I travelled on my own, but I found plenty of fun to be had. It’s a great place for sex - probably going back again - return likely be early May or mid Sept. Will be far more adventurous than last time, lol ! | |||

"Agreed……. Old Town nicer area than the New Town. Watch out for the ‘Find the pea in the Cup’ con artists on the beachfront. Amazed at how many dumb people STILL throw their money away, giving it to these arseholes. I got threatened with violence when I raised my voice saying ‘Do not do it…… It is a CON!’ " I prefer the old town as well, but I will have the occasional night up the other end. Still one or two good stand up comedians there. If I want sex (which I usually do) then the cinemas and sauna in the daytime then Bears Bar and Kuma at night more that suffice. Yes watch out for the find the pea artists (we call them "Potato men") they will rob you blind, especially around the market. The police do a decent job of chasing them away but they don't give up. | |||
