Well, OP has now views on the matter that sit on the two opposite sides of opinion. Tricky. I averted a similar situation, with a local guy. Really nice profile and pics, clearly intelligent, articulate and eminently decent; both had similar interests, opinions and outlook on a variety of topics (politics, culture, sex, current affairs, life) All this on chat here. And did I say he's 🔥? I was chuffed and intrigued he'd even take any interest in humble me, but heck🤷🏽♂️. Then, from loose comments and odd observations, we started to realise we moved in very similar circles, knew same people and frequented same places. And then, horror of horrors: his wife (!) has some form of professional relationship with my partner...and in fact he knows my partner! 🙈, and he knows *of* me, apparently, but we've never met, or so he says. We both realised it was all a bit awkward and decided to drop it  Part of me regrets it, but most of me sighs in relief.
