I saw some of the 40th anniversary highlights last night and got to wondering if anyone here went on the day? If so was it actually any good?

Also, did it achieve the aims that Bob wanted?

We watched it last night. It was a nice trip down memory lane, but it did make me feel old..

Midge Ure, Phil Collins and Queen stood out for me.

I also noticed the lack of energy from the crowd in Philidelphia compared to the buzz at Wembley. All good though.

I was there on the day. The buzz was incredible. Queen rocked it but for me the best was the duet between George Michael and Elton John. The place literally erupted when Concorde flew over having diverted from Heathrow with Phil Collins on board. We felt nothing was impossible that day.

No doubt about that. I was not particularly a fan of Queen but they blew everyone else off stage. Many of the other acts appeared to be cobbled together musicians while Queen were a gigging band well rehearsed on top of their game. I bought the video at the time just to see their performance again.

I lived in Perivale at the time about 2 miles from Wembley and you could hear the noise from the stadium in my back garden
