This guy sent me a pic. His trouble isn't that he's too big for the cage he's bought, it's that he's too small for it and is wondering whether he needs to go for a flat design. I think (and have said) that if he goes for one of the metal designs, he could find something smaller than he's got before going down the flat, or negative cage route.

sorry youre right from my experience i went from the nub straight to a flat cage and then on to inverted very shortly afterwards but it really is trial and error as im sure you already know lol my main struggle was getting the right ring size I always went to small which can make it uncomfortable
