Used to worry about dying - never want to die, it is the last thing I want to do! - but since working in my current role I have a new fear = that of getting old and suffering in hospital with dementia.

Such a horrid condition. Imagine having your life drastically changed, for example, losing both legs, then later in life, I am confused and wondering where my frigging legs are. Oh my days, how would that feel if you had transitioned? You would be wondering what has happened to you, surely?Heartbreaking.

I see it everyday on the wards and it is so sad and genuinely does break my heart a little, each time I am there.

Of course, as with most fears, mine is completely irrational! Whatever happens, happens, but I am only human!

Anyone else want to share their fears?
