You might be interested in another co-authored article by this same author which actually shows a negation of some of the arguments in his other piece: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5071749/ Most of the arguments in this type of research seek to extrapolate how some men are in contact with STIs having been “liberated” in their sexual activities by Prep, but without a proper translation or correlation of how much regular testing the same test subjects were having before being prescribed Prep. Without the proper contextualisation of STI occurrence in an equalised testing regime, these analyses are often without great value. This is why this research is not given such weighty credence by some UK academics. In UK academia you can find contrary analyses that illustrate how STI prevalence is correlated to more frequent and regular testing of subjects. The “explosion of STIs” is because the same number of STIs have more testing intervention than previous. A w_ole swathe of literature can be sourced on this - but as you say so glibly, Google is your friend. [It shouldn’t need saying that you one can easily cherrypick articles to point to most conclusions you want to evidence a priori.] As for the strangely irrelevant and juvenile comment about my profile picture… “you do you” as you fatuously say elsewhere in this thread.
