Tricky question. I've dressed since a very young age but started getting involved in the scene proper in my late 20's. I'm more active now because I have more time and freedom to travel in my 50' (kids at uni or have own lives).

I suspect that the age demographic here is similar in that later age offers more opportunities with less risk.
